About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. This team is responsible for the specification, development, deployment and maintenance of our APIs and web and mobile applications.

We are building out a scalable and secure infrastructure to support our applications in AWS, all based on containerised environments. We are building the next generation of our application with Laravel, Vue and MySQL for our APIs and web apps, along with Flutter for our mobile apps. This is where we do the majority of new feature development.

If your application is successful you will spend your time:

• creating and maintaining deployment pipelines

• writing Terraform config and Helm charts

• working with our Lead DevOps Engineer and developers to architect our estate

• creating monitoring and alerting systems

You should apply if you

• can write terraform

• have a container-first mentality

• care deeply about building reliable, stable and automated systems

• understand web security and are proactive in thinking about potential threats

• can create, maintain and deploy EKS and RDS clusters and network infrastructure

• understand IAM and can implement user, service and data segregation policies

• have strong opinions on logging and alerting strategies

It would be nice if you

• have experience deploying mobile applications

• have prior experience with AWS or GCP

• have experience in the housing sector or compliance

Work location

The role is based in our London hub, located in Farringdon for 3 days a week.

Interview process

Our goal is to keep the interview process fairly simple to keep you engaged, but thorough enough to help us each understand if we’re a good fit for each other. 

This is what the process will look like for this role:

• Step 1: 30-min initial meeting to get to know each other with a DevOps Engineer and our CTO  discuss your background and past experiences – so that we can understand if your skills and expertise match what we’re looking for

• Step 2: During a second, technical, interview we’d like to talk architecture and Terraform with you
